BG-68 The Who Fillmore Auditorium Concert Poster With Jimi Hendrix Reference, 1967
First printing, artwork by Bonnie MacLean for two shows in San Francisco, June 16-17, 1967, the same weekend as the Monterey Pop Festival, with lineup including The Who and Loading Zone. To the lower right corner the poster also features information of bands scheduled to play at the Fillmore the following week "Jefferson Airplane, Gabor Szabo" and "Jim [sic] Hendrix". Measures 22" high x 14" wide. In Very Good Plus condition with small area of toning to upper left corner, creases to lower left and upper right corners, several small white spots to upper right corner and one to lower edge, consistent with printing flaws.Unusually for Bill Graham posters from this period, the next week's acts are mentioned on this poster, including, at the time this poster was printed, a relatively unknown Jimi Hendrix, with his name spelled incorrectly! However, Hendrix was playing at the Monterey Pop Festival during the weekend of the June 16-17 and was about to become a star.
