Blue Danube Porcelain Dinnerware, Blue Onion Pattern
Decorated in the Meissen style cobalt Blue Onion pattern with chrysanthemum and floral meander within a border decorated with scrolling ferns

The Blue Onion pattern was originally designed in 1739 likely inspired by a Chinese bowl from the Kangxi period. The Chinese porcelains were painted with pomegranates, unfamiliar in Saxony., and interpreted as onions by the Meissen painters.

Ten 6 1/2in plates. Ten 2 1/2in cups (One with chip to rim). Eight 5 in saucers
