The pair inlaid with silver and silver gilt scrolling vines and arabesques within a fitted presentation case.The case inlaid with a battle scene of Europeans against Indigenous people, presumably Spanish and Caribbean within a banding of scrolling floral scrolls and arabesques. Two gilt plaques affixed to case, one inscribed Isabella, Havana Cuba, the second Captain Don Francisco.The pistols wee likely owned by Captain Don Francisco of the ship Isabella. The Isabella was captured by a U.S. Naval vassal during the War of 1812.In 1821 a lawsuit came before the U.S. Supreme Court over a dispute concerning the Isabella and her cargo.CAN ONLY BE SOLD WITHIN THE UNITED STATES
