Chinese Carved Elmwood Altar Table
Of rectangular form, the broad paneled top set with a molded frame above a plain apron, supported on robust rectangular end supports. Each side is inset with a finely carved and pierced decorative panel depicting confronted Phoenixes with dragon head amid scrolling foliage and stylized cloud motifs, further accented by carve brackets and spandrels beneath the apron. The table retains a rich warm brownish red lacquered surface, the top displaying attractive elmwood grain and an appealing aged patina.

Condition: Overall good condition with wear consistent with age and use, including scattered scratches, abrasions, losses and wear to lacquered surfaces. Minor age cracks, separations, and possibly old repairs. Structurally appears generally stable and sound.
