Chinese Celadon Ground Blue and White Double Happiness Vase
Late Qing Dynasty
Of baluster form with a tall flaring neck, the exterior painted in underglaze blue and with large Shuagxi (double happiness) character amid dense scrolling lotus blossoms and foliage, beneath a Ruyi head border. The neck is flanked by a pair of pierced Buddhist loin-form handles, the lower body is decorated with stylized lotus petal panels. The recessed base is unmarked.
Height: 18 1/2 in.

Condition: Overall good condition, minor surface wear, scratches and firing imperfection, including scattered spots and glaze irregularities. Minor rim fritting and small glaze losses; wear , abrasions and discoloration around the foot rim.
