Chinese Honey Agate Snuff Bottle
19th Century.
The flattened ovoid body of translucent honey brown agate with natural dark striations and inclusions, skillfully carved in low relief to one side with an immortal astride a mythical beast on top of the mountain, the reverse is uncarved. The stone of rich, warm tone with good translucency.
Height: 2 3/4 inches ( 7.5 cm).

Condition: Light surface wear commensurate with age. Natural inclusions inherent to the stone, some cleverly incorporated into the carving. One minor shallow chip to foot rim, approx. 2mm. Associated stopper without spoon. No repairs.
