Chinese Jade Carving of a Horned Mythical Beast
Carved from a dark tone jade stone with natural russet and cream inclusions, the recumbent horned mystical beast shown grasping a leafy stem issuing a lingzi fungus its mouth. The stone skillfully utilizes the natural coloration to accentuate the lingzi fungus crating a striking contrast with the darker body of the beast. Raised on a carved hardwood fitted stand.

Dimension: Jade width: 5 in. (13.5 cm) Height: 2 1/2 in. Height with stand: 4 1/2 in. (12 cm), width of the stand: 5 1/2 in (14.5 cm).

Condition: Overall in good condition with light surface wear commensurate with age. Natural inclusion and russet patches inherent to the jade. Hardwood stand with expected minor wear.
