Four Japanese Sword Fittings
Edo to Meiji Period.
First is a four lobed form copper mokko-Gata Tsuba, in suaka copper with ishime ground, decorated with a spider and river waves in Shakudo and gold nunome-zogan. The spider Kumo is an auspicious symbol of welcome guests. Height: 2 3/4 in. (7.5 cm).
Second is an iron Tsuba inlaid in gold with a fisherman in a boat beneath geese and reeds, the reverse side depicts reeds, rocks and waves.
diameter: 2 3/4 in. (7.5 cm).
Third is a bronze menuki of a diving Hawk. Cast as a hawk with gilt eye and beak, finely detailed feathers, menuki were mounted under the sword grip. 3 7/8 in. (10. 5 cm).
Fourth is a Shakudo Yuchi with phoenix, decorated in relief with a gold and silver phoenix above ocean waves. diameter: 2 1/4 in. (6.5 cm).

Condition: all in good condition commensurate with age and use. with rich patina and light verdigris.
