Fourteen Pennsylvania Game Commission Posters
Group of fourteen posters issued by the Pennsylvania Game Commission, circa 1930s-1950s, printed on card stock, including two WPA silkscreen posters,circa 1930s, artists unknown, one showing an illustration of a sparrow hawk with text reading "Know Your Birds, Don't Shoot Protected Hawks." The other showing an illustration of a grouse, reading "Protect Wildlife. Leave Briar Patches And Cover For Game." Two other illustrated posters titled "Don't Shoot Hen Pheasants!"; and "The Open Gate To Mutual Understanding"; and nine others, all boxing style printing, stating various rules and regulations, including two titled "Auxiliary State Game Refuge Hunting Is Unlawful"; "Hunters Keep Out of Unharvested Corn Fields"; "Beaver Trapping Prohibited"; "Deer Hunting Permitted"; and "Special Wildlife Refuge Hunting is Unlawful." All measure 14" high x 11" wide.
