Franz Kohout, born in Vienna, emigrated with his family to Brazil in 1920, escaping the instability of inter-war Vienna, and settled in Sal Paulo.
Franz worked as a commercial artist, and in his spare time traveled the country recording rural life ,the people and landscapes of Brazil. His work expresses his love for the people and landscape of his adopted country.
