Early 19th century dental kit by Joseph Frederic Charriere. The kit includes forceps signed by Charriere, cauteries, scalers, an elevator, an ebony handled tooth key with 3 replacement claws, a small bakelite round box with tooth fillers, and more. In a red felt lined fitted mahogany case. Top with chased brass cartouche "Le Dr. Comte" and brass border inlay. 8" x 9.5" x 1.5".
Joseph Frederic Charriere was born in Cerniat Switzerland in 1803 and came to Paris in 1816 as an apprentice cutler. He specialized in surgical instruments.
