Gibbons Beer And Ale Back Bar Display And Three Falstaff Beer Signs
Vintage three dimensional painted chalk ware advertising display styled as a bar scene, showing a man in a bowler hat standing holding a beer, with a spitoon in the foreground a barman at thebar standing in front of a mirror beside a "Boxing Tonight" sign and another large red sign with white text "Gibbons Beer and Ale". The front reads "If It's Gibbons...It's Good!". Stamped "The Lion Inc., Brewers, Wilkes-Barre, PA." Circa 1930s-1940s. Measures 9" high x 14" wide x 3' deep. Accompanied by a pair of metal and plastic "Falstaff Beer" wall sconces in the form of candlesticks. Made by "Lakeside Plastics, Minneapolis, Chicago", circa 1950s. Measure 9" high x 6 1/4" wide x 3 1/2" deep. And an electrically lit "Falstaff de San Jose" metal and plastic hanging advertising display, made by "Thomas A. Schutz Co. Inc...Morton Grove, Ill." Circa 1960s. Measures 11 1/2 x 13" wide x 5" deep. Gibbons sign and sconces in Very Good to Excellent condition with minor paint loss, chips and wear. Other sign in Good condition with general wear. Light fixture is loose but functioned well when tested.
