William A. Clark, Jr of Butte Montana. graduated from the University of Virginia and worked as a partner in the law form Roote and Clark in Butte and served on the boards of several mining companies.
He relocated to Los Angeles in 1910, his love of music led him to found the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra.
He collected antiquarian and fine press books, now housed in the Clark Library of UCLA.
