Group of Three Japanese Mixed Metal Tsuba
Meiji period.
Comprising: First is a circular Tsuba with waves and demon and figures.
Iron with copper and silver inlay. Decorated with turbulent waves and flowering chrysanthemum. Maru-gata form. Signed with incised four character to the center.
Second is a Mokko-gata Tsuba with bird, duck and plum blossom, copper alloy with silver and shakudo inlay. Decorated with a bird perched above waves and prunus blossoms.
Third is a Dragon in Waves Tsuba, iron with gold nunome zogan inlay. Boldly carved with a dragon amongst swirling clouds and waves. Mokko-gata form. With Bonhams New York lot tag #328, sale 24721.
Size: approx. 2.75-3 in. (7-7.6 cm) wide
