Ken Potter, known for his California scenes was a watercolor painter, muralist, print maker and teacher at California Academy of Art and SF State University. He served in World War Two as an anti-aircraft gunner in the Pacific Theater. Potter studied art on the G.I. Bill in San Francisco, Paris and Florence.
Porter's right arm was badly mangled in an auto accident, he continued too paint with his left hand, Porter then having a 'right hand period' and 'left hand period.'
