Laxman Pai used vibrant palettes of yellow and red in his Musical Moods series, which gave visual expression to his Indian classical ragas. He studied at Goa College of Art and in Paris where he was Influenced by the works of Paul Klee, Mark Chagall, and Joan Miró, He explored the stylization of Indian folk art with modern techniques flatness of the pictorial surface.
