The core principle of medical astrology, was the practice of associating specific body parts, diseases, and treatments with astrological signs and celestial bodies

A Medieval Choir Book cover with crowned Fleur de Lys over a heart inscribed AR.
Possibly originally a book belonging to King Louis IX of France, commonly known as Saint Louis (r. 1226–1270). The stylized lily, or fleur-de-lys, was the emblem of the French monarchy, and the monogram "AR" stands for Ave Regina, referring to the Virgin Mary. Louis IX was known for his piety and devotion to Mary, so this combination of symbols would be highly appropriate for a manuscript he commissioned.`
