"Saint Apollonia" 1 - 4. Four lithographic illustrations reproduced from prints in the Wessler Collection at the Royal School of Dentistry in Stockholm. Each with a corresponding text on vellum describing the story behind the lithograph. Each 11.75" x 8.25".
According to church tradition, Apollonia's torture included having all of her teeth violently pulled out or shattered. For this reason, she is popularly regarded as the patroness of dentistry and those suffering from toothache or other dental problems.
