Circa 1810.
The line inlaid demi-lune server flanked by pedestals with drawers and cabinets ending in toupie feet.
42in. (107cm) h. 60in. (153cm) l. 22in. (56cm)
Condition: Right side pedestal is loosely attached, needs tightening. Minor stains and cracks as expected for age and use.
The Regency era is considered by many to be the zenith of English cabinetmaking, and this sideboard is certainly a triumph of early 19th-century inventiveness.
As is true today Its pedestal form ensure the smooth execution of even the most opulent or casual dinner party. Extra bottles of wine were easily at hand in the pedestal cabinets.
