The oak case hood with coved cornice and outset columns enclosing a 10 1/2in. silvered brass dial with Roman and Arabic chapter ring and date aperture
Signed Rich Marshall, Wolsingham, Fecit 1734.

The Marshall family of Wolsingham in County Durham made clocks over several generations. Richard Marshall, Sr.( 1708-1774). Richard Marshall, Sr. produced very many clocks as numerous examples of his work have been recorded, mostly in the form of simple thirty-hour brass dial clocks, mostly two-handers.
