Steinway Model M. Grand Piano
Steinway Piano 1927 Serial No. 251280 Mahogany case. 65in X 57 X 39in.

The soundboard and bridges are in excellent condition. The piano has recently been nicely restrung with new damper felts. Number four tuning pins were used. The soundboard and plate were refinished at that time. The ivory keytops are in near perfect condition. The hammer shanks and flanges were replaced with what appear to be Abel parts and the workmanship is good. The key bushings, front rail punchings and under key felts are all original but in good condition although the front key bushings are worn enough to allow a mild amount of side play in the keys. There is very little action noise indicating that the many pieces of felt that can click and knock are all in good condition. There is only a trace of wear on the hammer felt indicating a minimum of playing after the rebuild. The tone is quite bright, and a hammer voicing would give the piano a much warmer and richer tone.
