Two Chinese Carved Hardstone Scholar's Objects.
Republic Period to 20th Century.
First is a Celadon and russet jade figure of a phoenix carved with loose ring in beak and loose ring finial, wings detailed, fitted to a reticulated hardwood stand. Length: 4 in. (10.5 cm).
Second is a Chicken bone jade tripod vessel, brush washer, carved in relief with bat and peach tree branches, symbolizing happiness and longevity, on a carved hardwood stand. of mottled calcified tone. Height: 1 3/4 in. (4.5 cm).

Condition: good overall, brush washer with natural calcification, surface cracks and stains consistent with age.
