Very large Cretan Yatagan, the silver scabbard with allover scrollwork design, dragon head tip, and banded locket. Silver overlay hilt with incised decoration extending into the engraved silver bolster. The curved single edge blade with etched design on either side, circa 1858. Blade 26.75"l. Total length 34.25"
Hilt with wear and probable repairs along top and bottom edge, as well as base. Scabbard can come apart in the middle where two sheets of silver join.
