Vintage Denby Greenwheat Pattern Table Ware
Greenwheat pattern circa 1956 with subtle variations over a decade.
The Collection includes;
Ten 11in. plates, Eleven 8in.plates, Nine 7in plates, Nine 7in diam. bowls
Seven Tea cups, eight 9in. saucers, Two cream pitchers, One sugar bowl,
two 5in. x 3in rectangular biscuit servers, one 10in.d. covered casserole,
one 11in. x 8in. covered casserole, one 11in. d. loop handle covered casserole,
one 7in. loop handle gravy bowl, one 6in tea pot, one 8in butter dish, three salt, pepper and mustard servers on tray.
70 pieces.
Condition: Hand painted with subtle variations and a few with rose tinted wheat sprig.
One tiny chip to edge of butter dish.
All with hand painted spig of green wheat on matte glaze and saucers and lids of high gloss green glaze.
All marked Denby Stoneware, signature of Albert Colledge.
Albert Colledge designed the Greenwheat pattern at Denby in 1956.
The pottery has been in existence in Denby, Derbyshire since 1809.
