Wedgewood Set of West Point Decorated Etruria China Including: Eight 10 1/2in. plates, Nine 6in. plates, Nine 6in saucers, eight 2 1/2in. x 4 14in. cups, one Platter 19in. x 16in. 35 pieces. Each decorated with a cadet on a shield within an oak leaf border and the motto ' Duty Honor Country' One plate decorated with an image of the obelisk memorial and parade ground engraved after the painting by George Catlin, dated 1828. The platter decorated with the image 'View North from Trophy Point,' also after an engraving by George Catlin 1828 Catlin's brother graduated West Point in 1828 and the painting was a memorial. . The artist, George Catlin, is more well known for his portraits of Native Americans and landscapes of the American West. The other plates decorated with historic campus halls, including the Neogothic Cadet's Chapel.
