A Set of Four Chinese Figural Painted Hanging scrolls, Attr. to Guo Liang (1894-1936)
Ink and color on paper, each depicting a celebrated female figure from Chinese history and literature, comprising Hongfu' s Night Flight; Hongxian Stealing the Golden Box; Lady Liang beating the War Drum; and Mulan Joining the Army. Each inscribed and bearing a red real. The exterior paper title slips are inscribed with the respective titles, followed by "painted by Guo Liang" and "title slip by You Yinpei. Mounted as hanging scrolls and preserved together in a fitted wooden storage box.

Condition: Overall age-related toning, Foxing, staining, horizontal and vertical creases, scattered small tears and areas of paper separation. Wear, losses and discoloration to the mounts; some scrolls may require remounting or conservation, The wooden box with scratches, stains , wears, consistent with age and use.
