Four Glass Snuff Bottles
Qing Dynasty to Republic Period.
First is a Snowflake Glass Red-Overlay 'Grapes' Snuff Bottle, Of globular form, the translucent 'snowflake' glass ground overlaid in ruby-red glass and carved with a continuous design of grape vines and squirrels. Height: 2 1/2 in (6.4 cm) Condition: Lacking stopper, metal spoon present. Minor wear to overlay.
Second is a yellow glass moulded 'Dragons' snuff bottle, of tall cylindrical form, the opaque imperial yellow glass moulded in high relief with dragon contesting pearls amongst clouds. Height: 3.5 in (9.4 cm) Condition: With light scratches and lacking stopper.
Third is an Imperial yellow glass plain snuff bottle, of slender vase form, the opaque lemon yellow glass with superb polish, fitted with a malachite stopper. Height: 3 in (8.5cm).
Fourth is a 'Realgar Glass' swirl snuff bottle, of flatten globular form, the opaque glass imitating realgar stone with swirling patterns of ochre and black. Height: 2 1/4 in (6 cm), Condition: Lacking stopper. Good condition.
