Chinese Yixing Zisha and Pottery Snuff Bottles
Late 19th to 20th Century.
First is a Yixing Zisha "Prunus and Poetry" snuff bottle, of compressed circular form, carved in low relief with prunus blossoms on rock work to one side, the reverse incised with a four line poetic inscription with two artist's seals. The clay of a fine dark wine purple stoneware. Height 2 3/4 in (7.4 cm) lacking stopper, chip to rim.
Second is an inlaid zisha pottery snuff bottle, of rectangular form with rounded shoulders, molded and carved with foliated scrolls, inlaid with colored glass and hard stone cabochon, the body of brownish unglazed pottery. Complete with a carved green glass stopper and bone collar. Height: 3 1/4 in. (9 cm).
