Folio with gilt cardboard cover case. Original brown embossed cover, stamped and lettered in gold, edges untrimmed. Printed in brown ink on brown paper with gold and red decoration throughout. 59 mounted colored plates, 53 of which are full page. Art Deco First Edition numbered copy 75 of 200. 15¼ x 13

Book- VG (-) Interior pages are pristine and seemingly unread. Illustrations fresh and bright. No interior damage to note. Exterior has rubbing and scuffs. Spine is split with missing pieces and corners are bumped. Gilt case good (-)

The book illustrates the decoration and extravagant costumes of the opera Fay-Yen-Fah (The Fox-God. An opera in 3 parts). Stowitts joined the ballet dancer Anna Pavlova in touring the world. After his dancing carreer, he turned to painting.
