Full blue buckram covered boards, gilt titles to upper cover and spine. Complete with 4 etchings, 4 wood engravings and 32 half-tone engravings. The four etchings include 2 by Renoir and 1 each by Manet and Morisot.
Condition: Rubbing to outer joints otherwise an excellent example.
Provenance: Duncan Phillips with “From the Library of Duncan Phillips” stamp to front pastedown. Phillips was a leading art critic, collector and founder of the Phillips Collection in the Dupont Circle area of Washington, DC in 1921. It was the first modern art museum in America.
