Two Chinese Brocade and Embroidered Silk Panels
Late Qing Dynasty- Republic period
Comprising and elongated silk brocade panel woven with repeating bands of boys at play, floral motifs and auspicious emblems on golden-brown ground, with striped end borders; together with a rectangular blue-ground silk panel embroidered in polychrome threads with a central arrangement of flowering branches and ornamental rocks, surrounded by birds and trailing floral sprays at the corners.
Size of the largest: 74 1/2 x 14 1/2 in.

Condition: Both panels exhibit fold lines, creasing and uneven coloration. The brocade panel shows scattered discoloration and localized surface wear. The blue-ground panel has creasing though the central field and minor irregularities along the edges.
