Two Chinese Porcelain Snuff Bottles
Late Qing/Republic Period
First is a monochrome green glazed porcelain snuff bottle. Of flattened spade form, covered overall in an apple green crackle glaze. Short cylindrical neck and oval foot. Coral glass bead stopper with gilt-metal collar. Height: 7.6 cm, 3 in.
Second is a blue glazed molded 'Dragon and Phoenix'. Flattened ovoid form, molded and pierced in high relief with confronting dragon and phoenix amidst scrolling clouds, on a reticulated ground. Covered in a deep cobalt-blue glaze with details reserved in white. Leiwen border to shoulder. Turquoise cabochon stopper with gilt-metal collar and horn spoon. Height: 7 cm, 2 3/4 in

Condition:The green bottle with glaze crazing and light surface wear. Minor roughness to foot rim and small firing flaw to base. Stopper appears associated. The blue bottle with minor glaze losses to high points of reticulation and wear to foot consistent with age. Stopper associated. No restoration.
