Of flattened oval form, finely carved in low relief on one side with a scholar in a landscape, the reverse incised with a 12 character verse. The upper edge surmounted by a carved ruyi cloud head with aperture for suspension. The stone of an even white tone with a soft, waxy luster. With fitted stand.

Note:The term 'Zi-Gang' refers to plaques in the style popularized by the Ming dynasty master carver Lu Zigang. The poetic inscription and celestial imagery reflect the lofty aspirations of Qing dynasty literati.
