Chinese Cloisonne Enamel Teapot and Tea Caddy
,Shou and Cane, motif Victorian era Chinese wedding set.
Late Qing Dynasty / Republic Period late 19 to early 20th Century

The well matched two piece set comprises a globular tea pot and a cylindrical tea caddy, each expertly crafted in cloisonné enamel on gilt bronze turquoise ground . The Teapot is of compressed globular form with a curved spout, and a swing wire handle, and a dome cover surmounted by a gilt knot finial.the body is decorated with scrolling lotus and stylized “shou” longevity symbol, and Buddhist emblems, the base bears a three character maker’s mark “ Tong Shui Tang”. The Tea Caddy is of cylindrical form with a slightly domed cover and is centered with a medallion depicting a crane in flight. The body decorated with roundels of cranes, separated by auspicious bats and Buddhist emblems.

Teapot height: approx. 5 1/4 inches ( 13.3 cm). Tea caddy height: approx. 4 inches ( 10.2 cm)
